SPAA Independent Producer Awards
Deadline: Friday, 8 October 2010, 5pm
Awarded to SPAA members who have produced an outstanding project or body of work, which has contributed to the advancement of the independent production industry. The projects must have been broadcast on Australian television (FTA or Pay) or screened in Australian cinemas in the previous financial year (09/10).
The categories are:
- Feature Film
- Television Light Entertainment
- Children’s Television
- Television Drama
- Documentary
- Services and Facilities
- Maura Fay Award for Services to the Industry*
- Media Super Independent Producer of the Year Award
*The Maura Fay Award for Service to the Industry is awarded to any individual or company that has demonstrated continuous outstanding service to the industry in a professional capacity.
SPAA members may nominate themselves or another member.

Emerging Producer Scheme
Deadline: Friday 10th September 2010, 5pm
Designed to assist newer members of the industry attend the Conference at a subsidised rate. The scheme offers select emerging producers the opportunity to attend at the approved discount rate of $770* and will provide the tools needed to best 'work' the conference and the opportunity to meet one-on-one with senior industry figures.
Essential Criteria
- Applicants must be SPAA Members
- Applicants who have previously attended a SPAA Conference, either as a full registrant, an Emerging Producer or as a speaker are not eligible to apply
- Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career as a producer (i.e work experience, studies in screen production or production credit)
* Because the successful applicants will not be announced until after the deadline for Early Bird registration, unsuccessful applicants will still be able to register for Conference at the Early Bird rates.

Roundtables
Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 November 2010
Deadline: Online bookings close Friday 12 November 2010, 12pm
Find out more about the industry from VIP guests and execs in a relaxed, informal environment. The purpose of the Roundtables is to facilitate a broader understanding of the guest's organisation, their role and the types of projects they are interested in. Some Roundtables are simply Q & A sessions.
Bookings are on a first- come first-serve basis and up to 8 people are allowed on each table. Bookings are made when you register. Once you have registered you can access your profile and update and change your bookings at any time.

ScriptWorks Feature ScriptClinic
Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 November 2010

One to one sessions with a ScriptWorks advisor to discuss your feature film project and how you can move it forward - faster.
The ScriptWorks ScriptClinic will help you wrangle your pitch, identify problems in your project and solve specific issues in your development process.
Bookings are on a first- come first-serve basis and each one to one session is 30 mins. Bookings are made when you register. Once you have registered you can access your profile and update and change your bookings at any time.
